LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
Ketra Mytich
This year NAWBO has
again decided to present an award that recognizes the
dedication, talent, and long term service of one of its
members. What makes this person stand out is her commitment
to community service and to the welfare of her clients,
friends, and family.
She has dedicated
many years of service to this organization in order to help
women start and continue their own businesses. She was one
of the founding members of Central Illinois NAWBO serving as
Chapter President in 1985-86 and as a member of the National
NAWBO Board in 1986-1987.
She is the gold
standard for community service. She has long been very
active in many non-profit and community organizations and
willingly lends her professional expertise to them all. The
Children’s Home, Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, YWCA,
Women’s Fund, Peoria Civic Ballet, Peoria City Beautiful,
American Cancer Society, and WTVP have all benefited from
her good work. She was the first woman ever elected to the
Peoria Public Housing Commission. She is always willing to
take on projects that seem thankless and are often more time
consuming than anyone can imagine. She is the “go to”
person when it comes to writing and rewriting bylaws for
several organizations.
She has been honored
for her service with the Leadership Award from Bradley
University, Foster College of Business; Women of Achievement
Award from Women in Management; and Twenty Five Women in
Leadership from WEEK-TV. She is an active member of the
Illinois State Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin,
the Central Illinois Estate Planning Council, Peoria County
Bar Association, and was the founding Fellow of EPICOR
(Estate Planning Institute of Collaborate Resources). She
was a contributing author of three books addressing estate
and retirement planning. In June she was sworn in to
practice law at the Supreme Court of the United States.
This woman is a true
leader in her profession and the community. She always does
what she says she will do and does it with much caring and
compassion. She is worthy of this Lifetime Achievement
Award. Please help me congratulate Ketra Mytich.
